10 Past MCU Moments That Will Mean Something Big In Phase 4 And Beyond

If you’ve been keeping up to date with the smaller screen projects of the MCU, then chances are you’ve seen at least a handful of episodes from the anthology series What If…?

Initially, this might seem like an utterly non-canon series that isn’t directly connected to the main MCU storyline. However, there is reason to believe that we’ll be seeing characters and moments from What If…? in future mainline entries.

Specifically, Captain Carter from the first episode has been teased a few times to have a cameo in Multiverse Of Madness. Evidence for this comes from both eagle-eyed fans who have seen her shield in the poster for the film and the Italian Disney+ Twitter account hinting at a possible connection between the two.

But it’s not just Captain Carter; as the MCU further expands with its multiverse concept, we’ll likely see events from What If…? have some meaning in the future. Such as Infinity Ultron, one of the strongest villains we’ve seen who traveled the multiverse and almost killed a Watcher, or Strange Supreme, who could very well be the evil Doctor Strange we see in the trailers.

Regardless, with Marvel’s track record, it’s hard to believe that What If…? won’t have any repercussions in the grand scheme of Marvel, and there’s more than enough reason to think that we’ll be seeing more of it in the future.
