10 People Marvel Studios Really P*ssed Off

5. Patty Jenkins

Kenneth Branagh chose not to return to helm the Thor sequel due to creative differences with Marvel Studios, and Monster director Patty Jenkins - who was set to be the first woman to direct a superhero movie - left the project during pre-production for the same reason. Clearly unhappy with the Marvel process, her departure was very much last minute. In fact, it's been reported that the split was far from amicable and that Marvel fired Jenkins without warning, so early claims that she would work with them again are hard to believe. Following Michelle MacLaren's parting of ways with the studio (which somewhat ironically was also due to creative differences), Jenkins is now attached to direct Wonder Woman for Warner Bros. Depending on how that turns out in 2017, Marvel might just end up regretting that they decided to disagree with the filmmaker's vision for Thor: The Dark World.
