9. Johnny Depp Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean
Im not sure how the writers envisioned Captain Jack Sparrow when they were initially penning The Curse of The Black Pearl, but it was written with Hugh Jackman in mind, was offered to Robert De Niro, and big names like Christopher Walken, Michael Keaton and Jim Carrey were also considered for the role. As good as that list is, no one could have put in a more entertaining and unique performance as Johnny Depp, who made the role his own with a ton of improvisation and wacky characteristics. As the Pirates movies have steadily declined in quality, Depp has always managed to make the films worth watching (just about) with his comedic and unique performances.
