10 Perfect Castings For Nathan Drake In Seth Gordon's Uncharted Adaptation

5. Joe Flanigan

If you're going to cast a major role like Nathan Drake and expect to get multiple movies out of the contract, why not go with an actor that has expressed their love for the franchise to social media. It's only logical to cast a Nathan Drake that actually wants to be Nathan Drake.
"I would love to play Nathan Drake! And I'm damn good at the game too!"
Joe is most known for having played John Sheppard on the hit SyFy show Stargate: Atlantis, where he showcases a similar sense of humour and range of expressions that can also be applied to Nathan Drake. Essentially, they both share that knack for merging adrenaline fueled action with a touch of comedy. Yet similarly to Josh Holloway, he's an actor getting up there in age; something Hollywood might not find suitable for beginning a franchise. If this were back in 2010 then maybe it would have happened, but as of right now there sadly isn't a chance. It's a shame too, considering that casting an actor with an emotional attachment to the character furthers the good-will between actor and fan-base, which usually results in an honest and engaging adaptation.
