10 Perfect Marvel Comics Stories Phase 4 Must Adapt

9. The Finely Woven Thread

There've been no shortage of exemplary Black Widow comics throughout the years, what with blockbuster duo Mark Waid and Chris Samnee having just concluded a two year long run on the character (they're now turning their attention to de-Nazifying Captain America), but there's another creative team that fans should take note of: Nathan Edmonson and Phil Noto.

The opening arc of the pair's run on the character was slightly dour, but it was also filled with plenty of political intrigue and, more importantly, a really captivating story about Black Widow's past. Scarlett Johansson's character has made reference to the amount of red in her ledger, and, seeing as how the character has been dying for a solo feature for sometime now, Phase 4 is as good a time as any to make it happen.

The Finely Woven Thread dealt a lot with Nat's past as a KGB assassin, and saw the character go undercover in Russia to atone for the murders she had previously committed. It's an interesting enough tale, and one that could form the basis for a great solo feature if Marvel finally get off their laurels and give Nat the film she should've had two years ago.
