10 Perfect Movies With One Glaring Flaw
7. One Twist Too Many - The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The final chapter is Christopher Nolan's brilliant Dark Trilogy had a lot riding on its shoulders, and for the most part it delivered the goods.
However, the film's need to subvert expectations leads it to lose some marks in the backend. For one thing, there's the reveal that Bruce Wayne's love interest Miranda (Marion Cotillard) is actually the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, and the mastermind behind Bane (Tom Hardy) and his recent rampage through Gotham.
This twist, though, isn't the film's big offender (in fact, it's actually far better than you may recall, if a little rushed). No, that honour goes to that infamous last shot, in which Alfred (Michael Caine) sees a still-alive Bruce (Christian Bale) in Florence after Batman was believed dead and gone.
Slightly nullifying the Caped Crusader's valiant sacrifice and making no sense -- he simply couldn't have escaped that explosion! -- the twist ends an otherwise great film with a head-scratching image we're still puzzled by to this day.
