10 Perfect Scenes In God-Awful Movies

2. Motorcycle Chase - Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

X-Men Apocalypse

The nicest thing you can say about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is that... it wasn't great. Critics like to harp on about how the "nuke the fridge" scene ruined the movie but we can't pretend that was Indy 4's only detriment. The ants scene is ridiculous. The jungle cutter looks like a Lego toy. It was embarrassing to watch Shia LaBeouf swinging through the jungle with monkeys. Worst of all, all of these scenes are slathered with so much CGI (including the gophers), you can't take anything seriously.

This misaligned sequel is swamped with so much mediocrity, it's easy to forget the motorcycle chase. This sequence is the only time Crystal Skull feels like a real Indiana Jones movie. It's filled with creative stunt work, great banter, exuberant camerawork, and the right amount of cheese. Although special effects are used, they are only implemented to enhance the scene, rather than take away from it.

Watching the chase again, you can't help feeling bad for the film crew who put their heart and soul into it, only to have their work overshadowed by a scene revolving around Indy hiding in a refrigerator.
