10 Perfect Slasher Horror Movies You've Never Heard Of

8. Intruder

Last Girl Standing
Empire Pictures

While his directing credits include the likes of the first three Evil Dead movies, his Spider-Man trilogy, Drag Me to Hell, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Sam Raimi has very few genuine acting credits on his résumé.

Sure, there's the odd cameo here - a knight in a few Evil Dead films, a corpse in Body Bags, a wrestling fan in Spider-Man - but full acting roles have been few and far between for the legendary Raimi. And one such role, is 1989's Intruder.

Here, Raimi plays Randy, one of several night-shift grocery store workers tormented by a mysterious killer. To add further to the group's woes, they've just been informed that the store has been sold and that they'll need to find new jobs.

Given its unique setting - the store managing to feel simultaneously claustrophobic and vast - Intruder feels vastly different from so many of its more generic peers. Also, there's some really fun camera work on offer, not to mention some extremely nice kill sequences. And if that isn't enough for you, there's Ted Raimi joining his brother Sam and an appearance from fellow Evil Dead fave Bruce Campbell.
