10 Perfect Slasher Horror Movies You've Never Heard Of

Last Girl Standing
Netflix

Part monster movie, part supernatural spookfest, and all slasher, Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight is another horror effort quietly released to Netflix with minimal fanfare.

A Polish language picture from writer/director Bartosz M. Kowalski, this 2020 feature follows a group of teenagers sent to a camp where mobile phones are banned. So, that covers the usual logic gap of why these teens can't phone for help when some monstrous beasts rear their heads and have bloodshed on their minds.

As the film plays out, we get a backstory that brings some sympathy to these killers, showing how they're twins who were mutated and developed a taste for flesh after a run-in with a mysterious meteorite. Still, despite knowing how this terrifying twosome came to be, that doesn't take away from the truly gnarly acts they carry out across Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight - and gnarly really is the order of the day with some of these kills.

Even better, if Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight floats your boat, there's also a fairly solid sequel - simply titled Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight 2 - that's well worth hunting down.
