10 Planned Movie Sequels That Also Need To Be Terminated

7. Top Gun 2

Scheduled Release Date: N/A People in the industry keeping talking about Top Gun 2, and yet Hollywood never seems to get any closer to actually making it. Like, Val Kilmer will conduct an interview and somebody will ask him about Top Gun 2, and - maybe in an attempt to keep some sort of traction going as far as his ailing career is concerned - he'll say: "It's happening, from what know. We're just waiting for all the pieces in fall into place. It's happening, though." This would be less believable if Tom Cruise also hadn't weighed in on the matter a bunch of times. According to Maverick himself, this thing is actually in development, which has "bad idea" written all over it. Because, c'mon, who really needs a sequel to Top Gun more than three decades after its original release? How does that make sense at all? According to some guy with all the money, one David Ellison, CEO of Skydance, it'll focus on "drone technology and fifth generation fighters. It's really exploring the end of an era of dogfighting and fighter pilots and what that culture is today." Still, ask yourself this question: do you really want to see a sweaty, overweight Val Kilmer squeezing himself into the cockpit of a fighter jet? Thought not.
