The Cars movies might not rank as the very best Pixar has to offer, but while the second entry in the series was more than a little disappointing to fans, the original retains a certain charm, which is no small feat given that bringing personality to vehicles is something of a challenge. The world the cars inhabit in both movies are full of buildings constructed along human lines, with doors the vehicular characters could never fit through. Since there are no humans featured in either of the films this raises the question of who built these structures. Perhaps The Pixar Theory, in which all their movies are said to exist in a shared universe, can answer this question, although Pixar themselves have never clarified that one way or another.
