Another Pixar film with a strong message about the fragility of the environment is WALL-E, which features the highly advanced probe EVE, sent down to a desolate planet earth in order to search for life. When EVE first shows up on earth it soon becomes clear that she is equipped to handle pretty much any situation - she simply whips out her gun and vaporises anything that moves. Trouble is, since she's supposed to be looking for life this makes absolutely no sense - she's potentially destroying the very evidence she's looking for. Given that the planet is presumed to be uninhabited at this point in time another question presents itself: why was she given such heavy firepower in the first place?
