10 Post Apocalyptic Films You Need To See

5. Barb Wire

It's hard to find fault with Barb Wire's vision of the future. According to this movie, the America of 2017 is a country at war with itself, and opponents of the government can only escape persecution by crossing the border into Canada. The film does ask us to accept that Pamela Anderson could be a star, though, so it's not perfect.

Released six months before Bill Clinton was reelected (oh, the irony) Barb Wire avoids looking like every other post-apocalyptic movie you've ever seen by ripping off the plot of Casablanca and casting Pamela in the Humphrey Bogart role. So when she's not attempting to help a former flame cross the border, she's "establishing her character" by taking a bubble bath or being hosed down in slow motion.

When clothed, Pamela usually wears a black leather catsuit from which her puppies threaten to escape but there's a token nod towards feminism - she threatens to kill any man who calls her "babe." If Trump comes out as a fan of the movie, expect the Earth to fall off its axis and fly into the sun.
