10 Post-Credits Comic Book Film Scenes That Changed Everything

7. Thor

After Thor and Loki€™s big battle at the end of the film Loki dropped off into a black void from which we had no idea where he would go. After the credits we were treated to his arrival on earth where Nick Fury unveiled the Tesseract to Erik Selvig; this was the first hint at the plotline of the Avengers - the film which was the defining point of the MCU so far. Although the hint towards the plot line is important, the bigger issue is that we saw what became of Loki; he was on earth and clearly going to be up to no good. It was evident that he would be the major villain, and in revealing this to us the Thor film fundamentally altered the direction of the MCU, setting up the Avengers and the entire Phase II set of events. The Phase I films had hinted and made overtures towards the Avengers, but this was the only one to show us what to expect. The fact that Loki was shown to end up on earth and with this mysterious ability to seemingly possess other characters would become incredibly influential in the Avengers. This scene not only gave us a tantalising hint at what would happen in the Avengers, but it was also crucial to understanding why SHIELD are researching the Tesseract at the start of The Avengers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGNCQUYeAQM
