10 Post-Credits Horror Movie Scenes That Changed Everything

5. The Collector

The Collector is a 2009 movie, written and directed by Marcus Dustan and is pretty nasty, as horror films go. The plot follows Arkin O' Brian, a convicted thief and a man who is desperate to rebuild his life. Working as a handyman for the Chase family, Arkin reluctantly hatches a plan to steal a ruby from the minted Chases to pay back the debts his wife has amassed from loan sharks, due by midnight.

As Arkin breaks into his employers home, he becomes trapped inside with the Chase family, victims of masked maniac The Collector, who has the house sealed with locked doors and razorblades which line the sealed window frames. The Collector invites Arkin and Hannah Chase to a deadly game of cat and mouse, Saw style, as they attempt their escape with horrific consequences.

The film contains some pretty brutal moments, including a snapping bear-trap sequence with Bauhaus' Bela Lugosi's Dead playing as limbs are severed and blood is spraying like broken fire hydrants. Akin eventually escapes with Hannah, leaving the house in flames and the police on the scene. All appears well, except everyone knows that horror films are never that simple.

Akin is snatched by The Collector again, in a gripping ambulance ambush, ending with the fate of the hero uncertain as the credits soothe our fractured nerves. The post credit scene reveals that The Collector has Arkin locked in a trunk, now part of the collection himself, finally ending the movie - and apparently Arkin's life.
