10 Post-Credits Horror Movie Scenes That Changed Everything

3. Evil Dead (2013)

Sam Raimi's Evil Dead series was considered untouchable. With a devoted army of fans across the world and a style that mixed brutal chainsaw dismemberments with laugh out loud moments straight from the Three Stooges, these comedy horror classics had it all except one thing - a new sequel.

After years of rumoured projects that failed to get of the ground, a brave man named Fede Alvarez decided to attempt the unthinkable and in 2013 the first Evil Dead movie for twenty-one years was released.

While retaining the cabin in the woods set up, the film used a new and clever way of luring the kids to the woods. This time, there was no party, no lakeside skinny dipping, in fact, it was to be quite the opposite. This time, heroin addict Mia is dragged to the isolated shack by her friends and family, in a last attempt to get her clean. Little do they know that Mia's inner demons are about to become everyone's problem.

Alvarez achieved a rare thing - a superb remake that put the pedal to the metal and doubled the blood flow. Cleverly eschewing the laughs in favour of an all out assault on the senses, the films climax is a crimson soaked, serious affair.

Those who sat out the credits, however, were rewarded with Ash himself, square jawed and ready for action. "Groovy," exclaims Ash - letting us now know we were in the same bloody universe all along.
