10 Post-Credits Scenes That Totally Trolled Audiences

1. Dog King Of The Cannibals - Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

The Scene: We return to the island of Pelegosto to see the indigenous cannibals bowing to a new God. We pan to the throne, and just who happens to be sitting in it? That's right, the guard dog from Port Royal prison, with a crown on his head and a bone in his mouth.

Why It Trolled Audiences: The post-credit scene from the first movie, which had Barbossa's pet monkey steal a coin and curse itself, was at least interesting and funny, whereas this was just totally random.

For anyone who bothered to stick around in case there was anything of importance post-credits, they likely became extremely irritated that they sat through roughly 8 minutes of credits only to be greeted with this totally throwaway, if slightly amusing, scene in which a dog now runs the cannibal crew.

Somewhat ironically, this likely turned audiences off from staying behind for the third film, At World's End, which actually featured the only post-credits scene of the series worth waiting for, as it had huge implications on the plot. As such, Gore Verbinski has both trolled audiences and himself in a sense.
