10 Post-Credits Scenes That Totally Trolled Audiences

2. Howard The Duck - Guardians Of The Galaxy

The Scene: Taneleer Tivan, aka The Collector (Benicio del Toro), sits in his partially destroyed menagerie of artifacts and finds himself greeted by Cosmo, the Russian telepathic space dog, and Marvel Comics' infamous Howard the Duck.

Why It Trolled Audiences: With the MCU being as huge as it is nowadays, it's expected that each new movie is going to deliver a jaw-droppingly exciting stinger to set up the next film, though considering that the next movie here was Avengers: Age of Ultron, there perhaps wasn't really much of a need to film a compelling stinger, given that some flashy trailers will easily sell that movie in of itself.

Instead, director James Gunn filmed a mostly inconsequential cameo that provided a big laugh for anyone who's ever read a Howard the Duck comic or suffered through the terrible, George Lucas-produced movie, but left everyone else confused and even annoyed.

Still, it was a perfect practical joke on all those who simply expected Marvel to serve up some post-credit intrigue, as though the awesome movie that came before it wasn't enough.
