10 Post-Credits Scenes That Totally Trolled Audiences

4. Professor X Is Alive - X-Men: The Last Stand

The Scene: Dr. Moira MacTaggert (Olivia Williams) is checking on a comatose patient who suddenly says, "Hello, Moira", in Professor Charles Xavier's (Patrick Stewart) distinctive voice. Moira takes a shocked look at him and says, "Charles?"

Why It Trolled Audiences: To begin with, it was another instance of a hugely important plot point that was shoved into the end of the movie when most of the audience had already left (as comic book movies hadn't yet made a habit of this sort of thing). But more crucially, the scene just doesn't make a lot of sense on its own.

How has Xavier transferred his consciousness into another person, and how have that person's vocal chords miraculously changed to have the exact same voice as Professor X? Director Brett Ratner did explain on the DVD commentary that the patient in question was, in fact, Xavier's oh-so-convenient twin brother, a plot point that was nevertheless quietly hushed up in the vastly superior X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Without an explanation, it's pretty stupid, and even with one, it's not a whole lot better.
