10 Potentially Awesome Movies That Need To Escape From Development Hell

1. Ghostbusters 3

ghostbusters_3_resize Ghostbusters 3 has been confined to the fiery depths of development hell for a very long time now, in fact for over two decades. Dan Aykroyd originally wrote a script back in 1990 and whilst the studio had interest, none of the main cast were interested in revisiting the series at that time. Aykroyd's script is said to feature an alternate Manhattan to which the Ghostbusters are transported to and the antagonist was going to be the Devil. Whilst that sounds wonderfully outlandish, the project never got off the ground and Ghostbusters 3 wasn't seriously considered again until the mid 00's. Fast forward a few years and the sticking point is Bill Murray who refuses to do the film as he 'doesn't do sequels'. Despite Aykroyd relentless battle to get the film made, it's looking less and less likely to happen as Murray refuses to change his stance despite the fact he hasn't been in a hit movie for a while now. As each of the cast members get a little older, the desire to the series resurrected weakens. Aykroyd has said Ghostbusters 3 would go on ahead without Murray but there has been very little news on the film's future in a long time. Whilst it would be interesting to see Ghostbusters 3, the best chance of seeing the Ghostbusters on a cinema screen again is in a remake.
