9. More And More Of The Next Generations Great Filmmakers Will Originate From The Internet
This is merely a new outlet for filmmakers to emerge from. Despite internet streaming and internet piracy, it has done more good than bad. Many shorts are so impressive and do so much more with a shoestring budget than Hollywood blockbusters do with $300 million. The visuals can sometimes be simply stunning, the stories clever, the characters fully-rounded. Some of these filmmakers have been picked up by the studios, though Im waiting to see any real developments there. And its not just Youtube, but Funny or Die, and many others. Its so helpful for low-budget filmmakers like myself, it can only help rather than hinder the next generation, and it will only help them more as technology advances.
