Then there's the speculation rife about one particular expansion to the X-Men cinematic universe which might be awaiting us on the horizon. One of those half-confirmed movies on Fox's slate alongside Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse is reportedly X-Force, a film which could provide another new angle on the mutant's world and possibly bugger up the timeline even more than it already is. At least that's if X-Force co-creator Rob Liefeld is to be believed, as the superstar artist with a grudge against feet and anatomy spilled some details about a work-in-progress script for the film late last year. According to Liefeld, the film will feature not only Deadpool (so if it does get made, it'll probably be after his solo movie) but also Cable, which is where all the messy continuity that only just got ironed out could go to pot again. You see, Cable is Cyclops and Jean Grey's son. Except he's their son who was born in the present day and then zapped forward into the future for reasons too comic book-y to properly explain here, growing up in a post-apocalyptic world totally different from the Days Of Future Past one, but which nonetheless left him with a bunch of cybernetic enhancements, a bad attitude and an itchy trigger finger. Which is where the "different angle" thing comes in, since X-Force always had a different approach than the mainstream X-Men team - the mutants all dressed and wielded weapons that were a little more militaristic, and recently have acted like the black-ops division of the Xavier school, doing secret (often bloody) missions they wouldn't want the kids to see. A badass action film set in the X-Men universe? Fox's mutant power would, presumably, be a licence to print money.
