4. It Needs A Kevin Feige (And The Best Candidate Probably Can't Do It)
Kevin Feige's status as the MCU's "Godfather" since the very first days of the franchise has been one of the things fans talk up as instrumental in its success. Not only does it pay to have someone for fans to focus on as an authority but it also means every film-maker has someone - and a wider creative vision - to defer to.
The DCEU initially seemed more interested in creating a "brain trust" overseen by Geoff Johns, but he's now gone too and the franchise now seriously lacks a figurehead.
When James Gunn left Marvel and came on board for The Suicide Squad, it could have been the perfect opportunity to hand him the reigns, given his familiarity with working within that environment and his enthusiasm for comic book movies, but now that he's been rehired for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3, it might be a question too far.
