10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About The Lord Of The Rings Movies

6. All The Ent Stuff Is Mind-Numbingly Boring

Can we just admit this? Can we come together and proclaim as a united force that everything involving the Ents in The Two Towers (aside from the battle stuff towards the end) is dull, dull, dull? When this part of the movie kicks in, can anybody honestly say that they're looking forward to watching a series of scenes in which Merry and Pippin just sort of wait around for answers for, like, an hour? That's not the stuff of cinema, Peter Jackson! Granted, this part had a place in the film, but just two short scenes would have been fine; instead, Jackson opts to stall the movie - and our attention spans - with mind-numbingly slow sequences that are plainly boring. Who'd have thought that listening to a bunch of trees sluggishly debating whether or not they should help out would be boring? Oh, everyone did? There's no tension in these scenes and they're kind of ugly to look at.
