10 Problems With Batman V Superman Nobody Wants To Admit

3. Not Everything Has To Be Dark Guys

That's a problem generally with both the world view and literal view in the DC Cinematic Universe. At least as it currently stands under the stewardship of Zack Snyder. It's thematically dark, with Superman not the fancy-free colourful boy scout beloved by all, and a particularly angsty Batman out to put a stop to a hero that the world has apparently decided is a dangerous alien invader. But it's also literally dark. Like, so dark. That's been a criticism of Man Of Steel and of all the images released from Dawn Of Justice so far, with Superman's usually bright red, yellow and blue muted to the point of monochrome, and Ben Affleck's Batman literally being unveiled in a black and white image. Even Gal Gadot, in Wonder Woman's similarly patriotic get-up, is desaturated to the nth degree. It means that all the images of Batman V Superman look dull. Literally dull. And lifeless. And lacking in excitement. The film looks to have fallen into the trap current big budget video games have, where muted colours is assumed to equal realism. Well, it doesn't. Also, a film called Batman V Superman shouldn't be realistic.
