10 Problems With Harry Potter Movies That Nobody Wants To Admit

9. Apparition Feels Like A Lazy Cop-Out

The act of "Apparition" is something introduced into the Harry Potter series in its later chapters - in the movies, the first glimpse of Apparition occurs in Chamber Of Secrets with Dobby, but it's better seen in the Goblet Of Fire, when Ron's dad, Arthur Weasley, apparates during the big attack that takes place at the Quidditch World Cup. Essentially, it's teleportation: characters concentrate hard on a location and they can appear there instantly. And whilst Rowling spends a lot of time in her novels coming up with creative ways for her characters to travel, this one always seemed like a bit of a cop-out - an easy way to get people from one location to another with minimal effort. It's understandable, in a way, given the scope of the world as the series goes on, but it does deplete some of the magic of the series when it turns out that it's possible for most characters in the franchise to just appear and disappear at will.
