10 Promising Comic Book Movies That Sadly Never Happened

1. Mort, The Dead Teenager

Mort, the Dead Teenager deserves a special mention because unlike the other comic properties on this list (with the exception of Wonder Woman) every film found its way to the big-screen in some way, shape or form. Mort is different because not only was it a missed opportunity but it's likely never going to happen at this point. This 1993 Marvel mini-series featured a bullied teenager living in a dysfunctional home named Mort who is killed while drag-racing and forced to see the world in a new light with the help of Death's son, "Teen Death". In the early 2000's, none other than director Quentin Tarantino was said to have been interested in producing the movie version of the property. The film was set to have been released via Dimension Films, but it never happened. The script was likely shelved, and who knows if it will ever come to surface now. It€™s sad; Tarantino could probably have done something quite interesting with this oddball property, but unfortunately he never did. He did get as far as casting Mort though, with Elijah Wood being his ultimate choice. Now who wouldn't want to see that? Unfortunately Jessica Simpson was set to co-star. Hey, we didn't say this movie would have been a masterpiece. What other failed comic book adaptations would you like to add to the list? Let us know in the comment section below.
