10 Properties That Could Be Netflix's Answer To Star Wars

The world of fantasy film and tv is well stocked but not particularly saturated, as the high cost of creating a product that doesn't take place in our realm of existence is expensive. Thanks to this, fantasy movies often only exist if they are adapting very well-known materials. However, should Netflix decide to take a risk on this lesser-known - but well respected - book series then they could have complete autonomy over it.

The Tyrants and Kings series is split into three incredibly dense novels, all of which tell the story of General Richius Vantran as he fights a war on behalf of his emperor. This protagonist, however, quickly finds himself in a moral dilemma after falling in love with a woman that belongs to the religious group he has been tasked with eliminating. The story develops from here into a tale of political intrigue, religious zealots and massive scaled battles.

The concept of taking an unknown series and putting it on the big screen is not well-advised, but in many cases, it has paid off. The novels are full of character and have a strong setting that is both unique and able to be advertised, and thus Netflix could make great use of this property, despite its lack of mainstream knowledge.
