10 Questionable Criticisms Of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

8. The Logic Behind Wonder Woman’s Appearance

The Criticism: From Wonder Woman’s point of view, why did it make any sense for her to come to Metropolis? She claims she’s seeking a photograph of herself which Lex is in possession of, but that shouldn’t matter. She’s already hiding from the world at large, presumably with a vastly different identity than the one she had 100 years ago, so being outed shouldn’t worry her. For that matter, would a Greek heroine like her even care if Lex figured out who she was?

Why It’s Questionable: Dumb explanation for her appearance aside, the movie needed her. Wonder Woman was a breath of fresh air, a presence not driven by anger and a fresh player that upended the dynamic between Batman and Superman.

No, the reasons for her appearance don’t make a ton of sense, and her inclusion early on does feel superfluous at times but that final fight was so much better because of her. Without Diana in the mix, it would have just been the Man Of Steel climax all over again, devoid of any fun and repetitive in what it presented.
