10 Questions A Sony Spider-Verse Must Answer

As a new cinematic universe lays its foundation, Sony has to answer these vital questions ASAP.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse earned Sony an Oscar. Coupled with the success of Venom, hints that Morbius is connected to the MCU, and Tom Holland's rumored involvement in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, all signs point to Sony developing a live-action Spider-Verse.

This is fantastic news for even the most skeptical of comic book fans. There are dozens upon dozens of characters and storylines that, while would never have been practical choices to integrate into the MCU, now have the possibility of finally reaching the silver screen.

A live-action Spider-Verse could be a huge win for movie-goers and Sony alike. Sony may finally have the pieces in place to launch a successful multi-film universe, but that doesn't mean that it'll take off without a hitch. This new idea needs to be responsibly managed and strategically executed if they want to earn the support of the masses.

Especially those who are still unhappy about the ways Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 severed the possibility for prior worldbuilding.

Whenever Sony formally announces a Spider-Verse, they would do well to immediately answer a few key questions to instill audiences will instant confidence and shut down easy opportunities for confusion.

10. How Large Of A Role Will Tom Holland And Tom Hardy Have In The Spider-Verse?

Although Iron Man is only one of many main characters in the Infinity Saga, the MCU almost immediately established Tony Stark as the central character. The first point that must be addressed is who will be the focus of this world, or at the very least, of the first over-arching story?

The Spider-Verse is ripe with exciting potential but Sony must immediately establish the core character of the story. Will Tom Hardy be the central focus or will Tom Holland take over when he makes his debut? Will they share the honor and bring an interesting duality to the universe?

If neither of the Toms are the focus, then how large of a role will they have in the universe? More importantly, how will the future of their own franchises be altered to make room for another character?

If the plan is for Tom Holland or Tom Hardy to be the face of the universe, is that even a possibility either of them wish to entertain? The MCU signed actors and actresses to multi-movie contracts, some of which stretched over a decade.

Would either of these two actors accept this responsibility if it means being tied to one world for so long?
