10 Questions From The Avengers: Age Of Ultron Trailer
8. How Much Of The Film Is Set In The U.S.?
Though it's been known for a long time that Age of Ultron was largely filmed in South Africa, Italy and the U.K., not until this trailer dropped did it really seem clear just how much of the film appears to be taking place outside of the U.S. Whereas the first Avengers film takes place almost entirely in America, Age of Ultron globe-trots to South Africa, Italy doubles for Eastern Europe, and scenes shot in the U.K. will likely be doubling for the U.S. Still, there's very little America to speak of in this trailer, which focuses heavily on The Avengers taking on a threat in Eastern Europe and the Hulk-Hulkbuster fight in South Africa. The Likely Answer: Showing off the fancy new locations is a clear attempt to differentiate the movie's palette and art style from the first film, so while New York as a whole will probably be avoided this time, it's still likely that the U.S. will figure pretty heavily as a location in the film, especially considering that that shooting at Shepperton Studios took place for four months.
