10 R-Rated Characters Ruined In PG-13 Movies

7. The Expendables

Deadpool 2
Lionsgate

The Expendables was a surprise package, the franchise no one ever thought could work. The first two movies had a great interesting premise, bringing together the greats of the action genre in a cohesive story about mercs and their escapades.

The R-ratings helped to drive the action, meaning that fans of the classic 80's movies that made them would be happy, while being nostalgic enough that parents might let their kids have a pass and see them.

Except they became a victim of their own success and inevitably the third installment was a PG sludge-fest that seemed more about bringing Mel Gibson Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes back into the Hollywood fold than actually being a good movie. We did well to get two good movies, but almost all talk has died down now. PG-13 made Sly, Statham and co. truly live up to their name.

Rob Taylor hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
