10 Really Annoying Moments In Captain America: The Winter Soldier

3. Are You On A Helicarrier Or A Green Screen?

One of the biggest areas of praise for The Winter Soldier comes from the Russo Brother€™s decision to go for some more back-to-basics action sequences; the finale is naturally the CGI assault we€™ve all grown accustomed to, but the early fights, shot on location, felt far more real. Nick Fury€™s car attack and Captain America€™s first showdown with The Winter Soldier are on a smaller scale than we normally get in the Marvel movies, which allows for a less enhanced approach that pays dividends when the audience€™s hearts gets pumping. The same restraint with CGI can€™t be said of the whole film, however: like most modern blockbusters, there€™s a lot of impressive effects, interspersed with some really irritating moments. Chief among these do unfortunately come in the final sequence; for the most part the CGI services what is a well-choreographed, fun climax, but when the CGI character models are cut with real humans in the same shot it looks off. Look at the wide shots of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents running for Quinjets or when Falcon lands Steve on the final helicarrier and it just doesn€™t feel right.
