10 Reason Mad Max: Fury Road Should Win Best Picture

5. It's The Best Reviewed Movie Of The Year

Landing a high score on Rotten Tomatoes€™ tomatometer is no easy task: even scoring a €˜fresh€™ 60% is a challenge. It€™s rare that a movie is so well-done it universally appeals to such a diverse set of tastes, temperaments, and expectations, but Fury Road did just that. Rotten Tomatoes gives out annual awards called Golden Tomatoes to the highest-rated films of the year. Many of Fury Road€™s fellow Best Picture nominees took home an award. Room was the highest-rated limited release of the year, and Brooklyn earned the best tomatometer score for a drama. While these feats are impressive, none of the Best Pictures nominees earned as many prizes as Fury Road. Fury Road scored the highest marks for an Australian film and a sci-fi film. Most impressively, Fury Road earned the top honor of the year; it claimed the prize for Best-Reviewed Wide Release. Out of 323 reviews, 97% of reviewers gave Fury Road a positive rating. Based on the critical reception alone, Fury Road should win a Best Picture Oscar.
