10 Reasons A Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Is A Terrible Idea

8. A Wikipedia Summary Will Suffice

Given all the articles I've read dedicated to the book, I decided to check out the first couple chapters of the book to get a feel for what it was about. When that got tedious I turned to Wikipedia for guidance and got what I needed. Any story that can be summed up, explained, and experienced successfully through summary is one that doesn't deserve a film. Can you successfully comprehend The Godfather by just reading its Wikipedia page? How about Citizen Kane, Blade Runner, The Shawkshank Redemption, Rocky, or Schindler's List? These are films you definitely need to see to experience and to understand. I'm not comparing Fifty Shades to the films I listed - it's in a different ball park I know - but what I'm saying is there's a lot of money Hollywood will be spending on making this film that could be spent on another project that helps educate the human race or drives them to acting out of good will or challenging them thematically. A Wikipedia summary will suffice. That is all.
