4. There Could be More Books
It's a simple fact: when something makes lots of money you usually want that train to keep chugging as long as possible. E.L. James, who isn't much of an author outside of this series, could see this as an opportunity to either create more Grey books, or start a new series to capitalize on the popularity of the films. A Fifty Shades of Grey film could potentially mean continuing the cycle of this beast for longer than it deserves. I get it, the books had their popularity craze, but I think we should be done now. Whatever happened to authors like Hemingway and Steinbeck being on top of the New York Times Bestseller list? I feel like it used to be a big deal to make that list: people aspired to writing good works of fiction in order to say they were "New York Times Best Selling Authors". Nowadays all someone needs to do is throw together a couple of Paula Deen recipes, change the names of the dishes, and voila! It's a New York Times Bestseller. The point is, being on that list doesn't mean anything any more.
