10 Reasons Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man Owns Tobey Maguire's

10. His Love Of Spider-Man

There is no question in how much portraying Spider-Man means to Andrew Garfield, when he auditioned for the role he brought a picture of his four-year old self dressed as Spider-Man to the casting and in an interview he mentioned that when he put on the costume for the first time he shred a tear. Like so many of us, he grew up addicted to Spider-Man and has stated numerous times how much of a dream come true the role is for him, and like with David Tennant portraying The Doctor, sometimes a fan of the character can do wonders when given an opportunity. Garfield takes his role seriously and deals with the responsibility that comes with being Spider-Man with charm and class €“ he€™s a role model and hero to millions of children, and he does not take this lightly. He frequently makes appearances for charity events and spends countless hours with his young fans (recently teaching autistic children how to surf in Australia). Now, we are not in any way insinuating that Tobey Maguire is not a charitable man, but Garfield is certainly carrying the great responsibility that comes with this role in his stride.
