5. Lack Of Stakes

Regardless of whether it's Lex Luthor they fight or a version of Doomsday, the stakes in Batman v Superman just can't match Captain America: Civil War, and might just fail to top Man of Steel for that matter too. After all, General Zod wanted to wipe out all life on Earth, and much of Metropolis was destroyed in the process. The DC Cinematic Universe needs to save a threat that huge for Justice League, so where does that leave these two icons? Like any superhero movie, it will be cool seeing the heroes overcome the villains, but Captain America: Civil War overshadows Batman v Superman in a big way. There, the heroes will be fighting each other for ideological reasons which will change the shape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe completely moving forwards. Batman and Superman taking down a medium level threat before teaming with the Justice League for a bigger one can't compete.
