2. Budgetary Concerns

If rumours are to be believed, there are some internal murmurs at Warner about the film's budget, and this has resulted in the delay rather than Affleck's rib injury. The concern is largely revolving around whether or not to include Wonder Woman's home, Paradise Island, in the film, or simply refer to it in order to keep the budget from spiraling out of control. To include it would require extensive visual effects, due to its otherworldly nature, and given that even without Wonder Woman the film is going to need a huge budget, this could just push it one step too far for Warner Bros. If these sorts of discussions are still being made with filming apparently being so close (prior to the delay), then it never really seemed like they were going to make the date anyway. If they still need to work these important details out, then the delay was most certainly a good thing.
