10 Reasons Why Batman vs Superman Might Actually Be Delayed

7. Time Constraints

Marvel Studios have proven the virtue of taking your time and patiently building an immersive cinematic world, while projects rushed out of the gate don't exactly have a strong track record with producing hit movies. The thought of a Batman vs. Superman movie being released in a mere 18 months was indicative of a fast-tracked production that, while not necessarily rushed, was certainly ambitious and keen to get moving. Sometimes it's important to take a step back creatively and just evaluate what's best for the film, and though 10 months might seem like an inordinately long time for this, if it results in a stronger film, then it's unquestionably worth it. Given how delicate this project is and how much money Warner stands to lose if they somehow screw it up, it's important to make sure all the moving parts coalesce properly, and if they get it right, they'll probably be looking at a payday not dissimilar to The Avengers' box office.
