4. The Nostalgia Factor

One of the factors in the recent comic book movie genre€™s success is that back in the Nineties there was an abundance of high quality comic based cartoons; Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four and X-Men dominated Saturday mornings. We, as an audience, are familiar with characters because of their appearances in our childhood. Christian Bale€™s Batman did not resemble Bruce Timm€™s show whatsoever. Affleck does (slightly). No matter what he will remind you of growing up, watching the dark, gothic animation of the Batman TV series. This is the first time Batman will don the iconic grey and black ensemble rather than a rubber/armoured look. This is more than enough to get us excited, but the fact that no matter what happens we will be reminded of the iconic childhood TV program of a generation, and if you grew up reading comics this film will be even more exciting.
