1.His Plans Are Flawed
Marvel StudiosLoki's three biggest plans in the trio of movies he has appeared in to date have all been terribly flawed - giving his presentation as a scheming and devious villain something of a pasting. In the first Thor movie, he sought to take over the throne of Asgard, at Thor's expense, when his adopted brother was exiled to Earth - but he made the stupid decision to try to kill him while he was there. Not only would news of Thor's death have inevitably made its way back to Asgard and resulted in Loki being dethroned by Odin, but it also allowed Thor the opportunity to redeem himself and make himself worthy of Mjolnir again. Then, in the Avengers movie, Loki actively sought to inform the Avengers of his attack in order to make them end up fighting each other. Why bother informing them at all? The element of surprise was totally gone thanks to Loki doing that and there was always the chance that bringing the Avengers together would... well... bring the Avengers together. And that's exactly what it did. Not only that, but the attack he did launch consisted of weak-ass Chitauri characters - none of them posed any kind of threat to the likes of Thor and Hulk and even the likes of Hawkeye and Black Widow were fairly casually taking the ground troops down. How did he think they had any chance of winning a battle with a planet that had those guys on it? Finally, his plot in Thor: The Dark World might have worked (so far), and he might currently be sitting on the throne of Asgard, but he now has to spend his life posing as Odin - hardly the most convenient way to live. God only knows what his next cunning (read "silly") ploy will be. So there you have it - ten reasons why Tom Hiddleston's Loki, from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is actually a pretty lame villain.
