10. He Is Often Outwitted
Marvel StudiosFor an evil genius who is modelled on the conniving god of mischief from the comic books, Loki sure is often outwitted and his secret plans are often figured out. There are two glaring examples of this in his grandest plan to date - the invasion and potential subsequent rule of Earth. First of all, after having got himself captured on purpose in order to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers' ranks, he had a very close-quarters discussion with Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow. Thinking that he was emotionally destroying her, he used personal information about her past, but he was actually being played. Romanoff managed to get the key information from Loki that he was planning on unleashing the Hulk, leaving him looking like an idiot. Then, when he put his grand plan in to action, Tony Stark figured out that he wanted to do it from a position that he could be seen - thanks to Loki's extremely vain nature - and subsequently figured out his location. Sure enough, Loki was based at the top of Tony's own Stark Tower, allowing Tony to stall Loki and threaten him while the other Avengers made their way to New York to fight the villain and his Chitauri army.
