10 Reasons The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Best Days Are Behind It

9. The MacGuffins Have Become Increasingly Uninspired

MacGuffins have never really been the MCU's strong point, but those inherent to the first few movies were a lot more interesting than the ones we're dealing with now in literally every single movie. For some reason, Marvel have decided that it's okay if every MCU installment has characters trying to stop a villain from attaining some elusive, all-powerful object that will destroy the world as we know it. And now... well, it's a tad boring, that's all. Okay, so we understand that said MacGuffins are that of the Infinity Stones, and that we're building up to a cosmic-sized plot that presumably involves bad guy Thanos getting his hands on them and threatening to destroy the entire galaxy. But is it too much to ask that said MacGuffins are a little more interesting? As it stands, they're all so similar - and similarly named - that they're near-on interchangeable. These days, it's hard to differentiate between flicks! What happened to awesome, memorable MacGuffins, like the Ark of the freakin' Covenant?
