Before Guardians of the Galaxy was even released, buzz surrounding the film was so popular that a sequel was officially announced for July 28, 2017. The movie went on to shatter expectations and take the world by storm, and as such, there's an update to announce - Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has been moved up to May 5, 2017, arguably the most coveted calendar date of the entire year. The best part about the sequel, though? Getting the whole gang back together. Director/co-writer James Gunn is returning for the project, and given the response to Guardians of the Galaxy, it's likely that Marvel will try to bring back as many elements from the film as possible - that means Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel should all be expected to reprise their roles. Most importantly, the distinct sense of humor will still be present - even the film's logo conveys it. We also know that Star-Lord will be looking for his long-lost father.
