These baffling films got everyone feeling the burns of rage.

While the goal is always to scare your pants off, it's also safe to say that horror movies can make you feel an array of emotions. Hilarious horror comedies like Shaun of the Dead or Tucker and Dale vs. Evil can make you laugh, horror dramas like Lake Mungo or Bring Her Back can make you cry, and romantic horrors like Warm Bodies or Dracula can even make you swoon.

The genre really is one of the most diverse out there. However, if there's one thing you don't really want a horror movie to do, it's piss you off. Unfortunately, there are plenty of flicks that didn't get the memo.

Recent years have seen a selection of spooky films come along and annoy just about everyone who watched them. They drove viewers up the wall and proved that while horror is incredibly diverse, it can also be unbelievably disappointing.

Whether it's because of terrible story choices, a generally great concept wasted, or even controversies outside of the film itself, the following movies really got under people's skin, leaving them utterly pissed off.

10. Until Dawn (2025)

Watching a movie/TV adaptation of one of your favourite video games has always been a gamble. At best, you'll get something that understands the source material and does a decent job of exploring it, but at worst, you'll get something that feels downright offensive and completely misses the point. Then there's 2025's Until Dawn, which barely even qualifies as "missing the point," because it is so far removed from the point you'd think it was actively running away from it.

To be clear, this isn't a bad adaptation; it's barely even an adaptation to begin with, as Until Dawn is all but a brand name slapped onto a movie with little relation to the source, outside of the lore and world. It is not a retelling of the game's narrative, as it changes the characters, setting, premise, and more, with only a few similarities baked into the movie's DNA.

As such, it comes as no surprise that those who went into it looking forward to a violent retelling of the beloved game came out angry. Plus, it's also a trash film, so those who've never even heard of the video game didn't like it either.
