7. He'll Help Barry Feel Less Out Of Place

Barry Allen's awkward humor isn't the only thing that separates him from the rest of the Justice League. In many ways, Flash is the Peter Parker of the DCEU. He's intelligent beyond his years, he cracks a few more jokes than the situation deems appropriate, and he's completely inexperienced in comparison to the rest of his team. Unlike Parker, however, Barry is self-aware enough that these differences cause him to struggle with loneliness and isolation.

Throughout the first Justice League film, it's pretty clear that Barry Allen just wants a friend. He even says as much during his first meeting with Bruce Wayne. While Flash does eventually manage to get a fist-bump from Cyborg, it's little more than a payoff to an earlier joke. This fleeting moment of camaraderie doesn't mean that Barry Allen and Victor Stone actually have any more in common than they did before. Cyborg's angst simply doesn't pair well with a Scarlet Speedster who uses his secret lair to watch Rick And Morty while listening to K-pop.

Billy Batson, however, could be just the friend that Barry needs. He's young, he's enthusiastic, and he knows what it's like to have amazing powers that he's sometimes nervous about using. While Shazam's humor complements Flash's in a way that could help the tone of the film, the actual characters themselves should be able to develop an interesting chemistry that will help both feel a bit more settled in the League.
