10 Reasons You Shouldn't Be Worried About Jurassic World

1. Nostalgia Is Dangerous

You won't want to admit it and may even vehemently deny that you're being nostalgic, but if there's anything that's going to ruin Jurassic World for fans, it's their own over-inflated regard for the original movie. A classic though Jurassic Park is, it captured the imaginations of so many children that, as adults, they simply won't hear a bad word about it, even though it's pretty far from a perfect movie. To ceaselessly compare the new characters and setting to the original is inevitable but unhelpful, for how different Jurassic World is, it may as well be regarded as a soft reboot. It seems a little unfair on the new movie to compare it to something which, for many, arrived in their childhoods and was unlike anything they had ever seen. The original movie's effects have held up extremely well but they're far from perfect, the kids are annoying, some of the dialogue really sucks, and so on. Whether Jurassic World ends up with the same issues or not in the final cut, don't allow your well-intended love for the original to cloud a more objective assessment of whether this new movie is good on its own terms or not.
