Going hand in hand with the new narrative spin it places on the Star Wars mythos, Visions also presents radically different animation styles that run the gamut from 2D to computer generated images. Every episode has its own aesthetic, giving each a distinctive prism through which to view the familiar Star Wars universe in a new way.
The live action, and even animated series so far in the franchise have all had a similar look, which is great for making the expanded universe a cohesive whole. However, seeing the same aesthetic choices crop up over and over again leads to stagnation.
