10 Reasons The MCU Is Only Going To Get Better
2. The X-Men
Where to start? The much loved and at times maligned X-Men of the past 20 years are now done, no longer will we see Hugh Jackman's veins defining Wolverine or the spectacular garbage fires that were the Phoenix movies.
We are going to see the mutants painted in a much broader stroke, interacting with characters we never thought they would, we are also (hopefully) going to see more than 20 or so mutants be responsible for upholding the massive legacy that is the X-Men.
The most intriguing aspect of the introduction of the mutants is how the MCU handles the famed bigotry and xenophobia that will no doubt still be central to the story of the X-Men, the one complaint that can be leveled at Disney is their hesitance to take on more 'adult' themes and being that the subtext behind the scenes is an allegory of racism against mutants it will be very interesting to see where they go with this.
As a whole however you can't understate the amount of goodwill and heart that the X-Men and their related stories will bring into the already brimming with character MCU. The Marvel team at Disney will without a doubt in the world treat the property with an utmost respect that will have us constantly begging for more. Not to mention Marvel WILL use the iconic animated series theme music in some fashion, and this is going to definitely illicit screams of giddiness in all audiences.
If there is any purported film that can unseat Avengers Endgame at the top of the box office ladder, it's an MCU driven X-Men movie (you heard it here first).
